Power

The mosaic system uses the eurorack standard of +/-12V with an additional 5V making it fully backwards compatible with most modular systems and designs out there. The MM base comes with an integrated power supply with enough current to supply the full 64 MU of modules but you can always use your own power supply or connect it with an existing eurorack setup.

connectors

The mosaic system uses 4 pin JST PH sockets (part #B4B-PH-K-S or B4B-PH-SM4-TB) and JST PH 4pin cables for power. The cables are colour coded and keyed which removes the need for reverse polarity protection and prevents unfortunate mishaps. If you want to use your own cables make sure they are the of the “opposite side” variant so pin 1 on any cable or connector is always connected to pin 1 on the receiving side.

Additionally all modules are also grounded through the corners to the rest of the chassis.

distribution

The standard base has 8×8 MU and uses 4 power distribution boards with 11 ports each. Every power line is protected with a 250mA PTC fuse in case of any disastrous shorts.

The JST PH cables are rated up to 1A per conductor which is plenty of current to power even the most power hungry modules. But it is important to never daisy chain power boards.
